Kamchatka aboriginals #O2SIndig

A bit from me about Kamchatka aboriginals regarding Indigenous Studies MOOC on the Open2Study.

There are three well known folks in Kamchatka - Koryak, Even and Itelmens
They have been living here for thousands years and definitely they have some connection with other Aboriginal Pacific.

The main difference in the history is different treatment and attitude from powers and community at all.

As I remember from Soviet time aboriginals were never  considered as need-to be-enhanced. Also their children were taken to Internat-schools but they were not withdrawal from families, that was just studying in pansion with spending vacations at home.
Native culture was like some regional feature and every settlement had some local cultural centre.

Of course there were and are great deal of problems, such as alcocholic addiction, changing the mode of life and the others.. But I'm still not so good in Indigenous Studies to be more familiar with the topic.

I can just put some video taken by me this summer during the Aboriginal Day celebrating in August in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky:
